Hammered!

Gubernatorial candidate Alex Hammer (I-Crazytown) has been suspended from Twitter for spamming.

That he would engage in such tactics isn't exactly shocking. What's surprising is that Justin Ellis at the PPH was nice enough to write a whole blog post about the situation in which he pretends that Hammer is an actual candidate.

I also notice the main content on Hammer's site is still my youtube video of his WVII interview. I expect more from a self-proclaimed "media 2.0 expert."

With Hammer off the network, I feel a bit better about my decision to finally start tweeting.

Good morning. One expression in regard to media coverage is that all coverage is good coverage, but I don't agree with that at all. Having been in journalism, media and the like over several years I have a keen appreciation for freedom of the press. I have a thick skin, and while a part of me finds it actually somewhat amusing I do wish that you would avoid your constant references to "crazy". It's just something that you insert to instill doubt in regard to a campaign that is an obvious cheap shot that is unwarranted.

I'll be reading the PPH piece and possibly responding. I've written an entire book and many articles etc. outlining leading strategies for the state of Maine. I hope, if you wish, that you might give equal coverage to these as well!!

Possibly it is more fun for some to attack others, but Maine faces significant challenges and we need to be solution focused.

In regard to Twitter, our campaign was one of the leading campaigns on Twitter and I might consider continuing there in the future. I am considering proactively deleting our account at this time. We've had some issues with Twitter and other that I have documented in one blog post, and I may be expanding on that.

I noticed that you've never contacted me for comment. How balanced is that??

I give you kudos on a creative title. All the best wishes.

Mike, I am available to be interviewed. If yes, I would prefer a full written transcript of questions and responses so voters (readers) can judge for themselves, but if no then I'll just have to hope that you'll edit and post in fair manner.

Also, I'd even interview you for our campaign website if you wish.

BTW,
